Scope of Work:
The project involved the comprehensive exterior and interior renovation of an existing 7,500- square-foot preschool learning center to align with Lightbridge Academy’s stringent standards for educational facilities. The primary goal was to upgrade the facility to provide a safe, engaging, and aesthetically pleasing environment for early childhood education while adhering to brand specific design and functionality requirements.
Exterior Renovation:
Roof & Signage: Replaced the existing roof and installed Lightbridge Academy’s branded signage for visibility and brand cohesion.
Interior Renovation:
- Floor Plan Reconfiguration: Modified the layout to optimize classroom flow, incorporating dedicated spaces for age-appropriate learning, nap time, and sensory activities.
- Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Systems: Upgraded all MEP systems to meet modern efficiency and safety standards, ensuring adequate climate control, lighting, and plumbing for a childcare facility.
- Interior Finishes: Installed durable, child-safe materials including non-toxic paint, slip-resistant flooring, and impact-resistant wall panels. Custom cabinetry and furniture were incorporated to maximize storage and functionality in classrooms and administrative areas.
- Restrooms: Renovated to be child-friendly with height-appropriate fixtures and ADA-compliant features.
- Security System Installation: Implemented advanced security systems with keycard access, CCTV cameras, and a secure check-in/check-out process to ensure child safety.
Challenges & Solutions:
The renovation was completed within a tight timeline to minimize disruptions to ongoing operations. Extensive coordination with local authorities ensured compliance with all zoning, safety, and early learning facility regulations. The project team worked closely with Lightbridge Academy’s design consultants to ensure that all upgrades met the company’s educational and operational standards.
